Mac has announced their new O.S- OSx Lion.
I don't know if you are comfortable with another OS called Joli cloud.
It's a specialised OS for Netbooks. It's pretty awesome. Nice clean desktop.
It sort of remind you of the Ipad. The only thing is that the OS is Internet dependent and based on Ubuntu Operating System.
The OSx Lion introduced by Apple very recently is sort of like Joli cloud. The desktop environment is very similar. of course much better speed and compatibility than the Joli cloud. i am not very sure about the internet dependent thing.
As for Ubuntu 11.04 its release is recent..though not as recent as the Lion. I guess it's been about a month or so. I personally love Ubuntu. I love the desktop environment, the graphics, all the features, speed(booting speed, etc) and it's open source that means it's free. It's an amazing OS.. much better than Windows.
And as great as Mac OSs. Ubuntu allows the user to alter and set system the way you want it. You can change so many things you have never imagined you could in Windows or even in Mac OS. It's amazing. you can change themes, icons, screen saver, font, very very easily, but these changes are also possible in other OSs..windows etc.
But here's what you can't do with Windows,, you can customize the theme in which ever way you want. You can change login screen background very easily.. anything you want. you can have several work spaces. you can switch between them in cube, cylinder sphere or just flat rectangle.
the windows also go wobbly. it's really fun. you can make it rain on the desktop.
And if you know the system language then you can alter the OS in any damn way you like.
When you want to download some softwares and install them you don't have to go through all the pain in the ass process that you would od in windows. there are codes. copy paste them in terminal it will download and install automatically without the browser open.^^ and also there are thousands of application freely availabe. Good quality apps. there apps which you can buy like..photoshop etc.
so ya know just download it! try it! it's beautiful!!
